Bomb rocks Bangkok’s Erawan Shrine, many killed and injured

A bomb exploded at Erawan Shrine, a religious monument located in Pathum Wan, the commercial heart of Bangkok, killing at least 20 people, including foreigners, and injuring scores. Local media had initially put the death toll at 27.

The explosion occurred late Monday near the CentralWorld Mall at the Ratchaprasong intersection of Ratchadamri Road, which is frequented by both Thais and tourists. At least two devices more have been deactivated by the Thai police in the nearby area.

No one has taken credit for the attack.
