Highest security in Hat Yai

HAT YAI – Authorities have beefed up security in this bustling southern district to the highest level as the end of Ramadan draws near with tourists starting to return to the southern border tourist city.

Songkhla police chief Pol Maj Gen Ekkapob Prasitwattanachai said on Sunday the security alert in Hat Yai had been raised to the highest alert for the safety of local and Malaysian tourists to celebrate Hariraya, Manager Online reported.
