Fire at Chiang Mai golf course destroys 160 golf carts

CHIANG MAI, 10 May 2014, (NNT) – Authorities have reported a fire in Green Valley Golf Course this morning in the Mae Rim District of Chiang Mai Province, where the drive range is located in the same neighborhood, as the family home of the former Prime Minister, Thaksin Shinawatra.

Firefighters said the blaze enveloped 160 golf carts, adding that they had to deploy 10 firetrucks but were then able to control the fire after 20 minutes. They also estimated the damage at about 50 million baht.
