Government Savings Bank president resigns to show responsibility for infamous loan

BANGKOK, 18 February 2014 (NNT) – President of the Government Savings Bank (GSB) Worawit Chailimpamontri has announced his resignation to take responsibility for the recent issuance of an interbank loan which ruined the confidence of customers.

After making clarifications to the Senate Committee on Monetary, Finance, Banking and Financial Institutions regarding the lending of a 20-billion-baht loan to the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), Mr Worawit convened a meeting with the GSB’s executive board members and employees.
