BANGKOK, Aug 16 – Thai Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul gave assurances today that Thai citizens in strife-torn Egypt will be evacuated if violence escalates to worsen further.

He said the Thai embassy in Cairo has coordinated with Thai embassies in neighbouring countries including Turkey, Jordan, United Arab Emirates and Greece to immediately evacuate Thai nationals to safe locations, if necessary.
