Buddhists across Thailand celebrate Visakha Bucha Day

Friday is Visakha Bucha Day and the most important of days on the Buddhist Calendar.

Its also a national holiday in Thailand to celebrate the three important steps in the life of The Buddha, the birth, the enlightenment and the passing, which miraculously fall on the same month and date, Friday sees a full moon and is known as the Vesak full moon day, on which Buddhists throughout the world gather together to perform the worship to recollect the wisdom, purity and compassion of the Buddha.
