CHON BURI, 29 February 2012 (NNT) – The world’s first Cartoon Network Water Park will be built in Bang Saray municipality of Chon Buri province, Thailand. It is expected that the attraction will draw around 800,000 local and foreign tourists per year.
Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific, a subsidiary of one of the world’s largest media companies, Time Warner, has announced its plan to construct a large-scale water park in Bang Saray municipality in Sattahip district, Chon Buri province. Built under the concept of “Cartoon Network Amazon”, the water park will feature the atmosphere of the Amazon Rainforest and popular cartoons characters, such as Ben 10, the Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo and the Amazing World of Gumball. The project is expected to be launched at the beginning of 2013.
Bang Saray has been chosen as the site for the world’s first Cartoon Network Water Park given that Thailand’s weather is apt for a water park project. Attractions in the park will include a gigantic wave pool, speed-racing slides, rafting, and the world’s largest interactive water fortress.
The water park is situated only 15 minutes away from Pattaya beach and 90 minutes from Suvarnabhumi airport. The first phase of construction is already under way. Once completed, the water park will cover an area of 35 rais. It is expected to attract approximately 800,000 domestic and foreign tourists each year.
