Strong quake off Indonesia’s Java, tsunami warning issued

A strong earthquake struck off the southern coast of Indonesia’s Java island early Monday, prompting authorities to issue a tsunami warning.

The quake, measuring 7.1 on the Richter scale, jolted the southern coast of Central Java at 3:06 am (8:06 pm GMT Sunday).
