Thailand: Cobra suspect in owner’s death

Bangkok – Thai police on Friday blamed a pet cobra for the death of a Norwegian pensioner whose corpse was discovered in his condominium in Pattaya beach resort.

The body of Per Christian Lindgaard, aged 60, was found on Thursday in the New Nordic Condominium in Pattaya, 100km east of Bangkok, after a maid complained of a bad smell coming from the room.

Lindgaard’s bloated body was found lying on the bed, with his pet one-metre-long cobra curled up nearby, Pattaya police said.
