World’s longest painting created by 200 Chiang Rai artists as a tribute to King Bhumibol

About 200 artists in Chiang Rai led by national artist Chalermchai Kositpipat took part in creating what was reputed to be the world’s longest painting depicting the life of the late King Bhumibol since his childhood days in Switzerland, his growing up in Thailand, his marriage, his monkhood, his accession to the throne and his lifelong dedication to works for the betterment of the livelihood of the people through various royally-sponsored projects.

The painting also depicts locations in Chiang Rai where the late King had visited and tourist destinations in the northern province.
