Bangkok City Hall setting up flood operations centre to tackle crisis in suburbs

BANGKOK, Oct 10 – Bangkok Governor Sukhumbhand Paribatra on Monday said the city authorities are setting up an operations centre to cope with possible flooding in the eastern part of the capital and help flood victims as the situation has become worrying.

The Bangkok governor made his remarks while calling for a meeting with concerned agencies as the capital braces for possible floods.

Mr Sukhumbhand said the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) will position the subordinate operations centre in Minburi district to help residents in four flood-prone districts in the East, including Minburi itself, Lat Krabang, Nongjok, and Klongsamwa.
