Chaotic Early-Morning Brawl in Pattaya Leaves Three Foreigners Injured
The Sawang Boriboon Rescue Center received emergency calls at 3:19 AM reporting a bloody brawl inside an unnamed bar off Pattaya Second Road. Witnesses described a scene of pandemonium as the intoxicated Irishman, blood streaming from wounds on his forehead and behind his ear, staggered 100 meters from the bar before being intercepted by authorities.
“He was incoherent, reeking of alcohol, and initially resisted first aid,” said rescue worker Preecha Somjit. Patrol officers eventually calmed the man, who claimed he and his wife were unprovoked victims of an attack by bar staff, including transgender individuals and women.
The situation grew murkier when a 31-year-old bar employee countered the tourist’s account, alleging that the Irish couple became disruptively drunk and assaulted her, the man punched her in the eye, triggering the brawl and she retaliated in self-defense, with one admitting to throwing a glass.
Two injured bar workers were hospitalized, while the Irishman’s wife appeared unharmed.
With no ID or passport on the suspect and both sides trading blame, Pattaya Police took the Irishman into custody for questioning, collected CCTV footage from nearby establishments and urged all parties to file formal complaints.
