Emergency responders were alerted to the scene shortly before noon. Witnesses reported that a large branch from a pine tree suddenly broke off and fell onto the Lithuanian man as he was riding along the beach road. Despite wearing a helmet, the impact was so severe that the helmet shattered, and the victim sustained fatal injuries.

The man, whose name has been withheld pending notification of his family and the Lithuanian Embassy, was pronounced dead at the scene. Reports indicate that he had been staying in the Nai Yang area, a popular tourist destination known for its serene beaches and lush surroundings.

Local authorities and emergency services quickly arrived at the scene to secure the area and investigate the incident. Preliminary findings suggest that the tree branch may have fallen due to natural causes, such as decay or strong winds. However, a thorough inspection of the tree and surrounding area is being conducted to rule out any negligence or external factors.

The Phuket Provincial Administration has expressed condolences to the victim’s family and assured the public that steps will be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future. This includes inspecting trees along popular roads and beaches for potential hazards.

Nai Thon Beach is a peaceful area frequented by visitors seeking relaxation, and the incident has raised concerns about safety in public spaces.

Local residents have called for increased maintenance of trees and vegetation in tourist-heavy areas to prevent such accidents. Some have also suggested installing warning signs or barriers near older or unstable trees.
