DDPM warns 15 provinces in Eastern and Southern Thailand to prepare for floods and landslides 8-12 July

BANGKOK, 8 July 2014 (NNT) – According to the Thai Meteorological Department, a Southwest monsoon will cover the Andaman Sea, the South of Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand, bringing thunder storms, floods, and landslides in the lowlands, the foothills, in river bank areas and coastal areas. Therefore, the Director-General of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) warns 15 provinces in Eastern and Southern Thailand to prepare for floods and landslides during 8th-12th July 2014.

The provinces being warned include Chonburi, Rayong, Chantaburi, Trat, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Ranong, Phangnga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang, Satun, Songkhla and Phatthalung provinces.
