BANGKOK, 24 April 2014 (NNT) – The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) will on April 29 decide whether or not to grant the Prime Minister permission to bring seven more witnesses into the case involving fraud in the rice pledging scheme.
NACC Secretary-General Sansern Poljiak revealed that the request by Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to engage seven additional witnesses in her defense against the dereliction of duty charge was not discussed today by the NACC as some of the commissioners were absent. In a bid to ensure fairness and avoid being perceived as rushing the case, the deliberation on the matter was rescheduled to next Tuesday instead.
