PATTANI, Feb 13 – A couple selling food at a roadside stand were shot by a suspected insurgent in the violence-plagued province of Pattani.

Thongdaeng Taboonmee, 57, and his wife, Jorn Khoknukul, 58, were selling papaya salad at the roadside. The gunman, a passenger on a motorcycle, fired at them several times.
