A 4 meter by 100 meter section of the unused Hopewell Train platform, running parallel, to Vibhavadi-Rangsit Road, has collapsed on the Bangkhen rail track. The site of the incident is about 100 meters away from Samiennaree temple in Bangkok.

Police believe the steel plates which supported the structure rusted due to lack of maintenance, thus weakening it and causing the collapse.
