Thai PM says cabinet lineup awaiting royal endorsement

BANGKOK, Aug 9 – Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Tuesday said the new cabinet lineup has been submitted to the Office of His Majesty’s Principal Private Secretary via the Cabinet secretary-general pending royal endorsement.

Speaking to reporters at Pheu Thai Party headquarters one day after being royally endorsed as the country’s first female prime minister, Ms Yingluck has not disclosed names of her cabinet, saying only that the new foreign minister is a party member with well-rounded knowledge of foreign affairs.

“It was quite a difficult decision but I have thoroughly considered (the cabinet lineup) with party executives,” she said.
