Illegal Burmese migrant workers arrested in police raid

AYUTTHAYA, June 16 – One hundred illegal migrant workers were arrested here Thursday as police raided a poultry farm converted to living quarters for foreign workers in this central province.

The operation was conducted by Region 1 and local police in Bang Pahan district after intelligence reports confirmed illegal migrant workers were staying at the farm.

A total of 57 men and 43 women, mostly Myanmar and ethnic Karen, were arrested during the raid.
