Over 35,000 car accidents in 2010: Thai Police

BANGKOK, 25 March 2011 (NNT) – Road accidents in Bangkok in 2010 totaled 37,000 cases with 456 fatalities and almost 16,000 injuries, according to the Metropolitan Police Bureau.

Deputy Metropolitan Police Chief Police Major General Panu Kerdlarppol reported that about 64,000 people were involved in road accidents last year, and among the fatalities, 356 were male and 91 female.

The deputy metropolitan police continued that 957 injuries were reported in serious conditions, and 15,000 people were slightly injured. The accidents caused a total loss of 400 million baht worth of the property involved.
