Thai Govt to step up measures in control of the unauthorized arms possession

BANGKOK, 30 September 2010 (NNT) – Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva on Friday noted the government would expedite its task to seek measures in control of the unauthorized arms possession.

Introducing an amnesty bill was cited as a way to protect innocent protesters as bail would be granted to those who return illegal war-weapons and military hardware, stolen from security forces during the marathon rally of the anti-government United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD), to the state.

The amnesty bill was proposed by main coalition Bhumjaithai Party on September 16 and had been pending the House’s endorsement.
