South Thailand: Five rangers injured in Narathiwat bomb attack

Narathiwat – Five rangers were slightly injured when insurgents detonated a road-side bomb to ambush them in this southern border province Monday.

The explosion occurred at 11:45 am on a main road in Dohaemae village in Tambon Rico of Sungai Padi district.

Police said the five rangers were returning to their base when insurgents detonated the bomb using a mobile phone.

Two Muslims were arrested and taken for questioning following the attack.
