BANGKOK, Feb2 (TNA) – Bangkok police on Tuesday said they will question a taxi driver whose vehicle and personal images were captured by a closed circuit television (CCTV) camera who is believed to have witnessed the dramatic catapulting of bags of human waste and putrid fermented fish into the compound of Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva’s residence.

The bags of assorted foul-smelling excrement and the fermented fish (a northeastern food speciality) were thrown into the grounds of the premier’s home in Bangkok’s upscale Sukhumvit area Monday noon.

Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban earlier said the incident may be the work of the anti-government United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD), popularly known as the Red Shirts.

Mr Suthep, in charge of security affairs, ordered Metropolitan Police Bureau chief Pol Lt-Gen Santan Chayanont to inspect the site and adjust security measures at Mr Abhisit’s home.
