The Tourism Authority of Thailand and officials of Kanchanaburi Province have joined hands with local businesses to launch the Visit Kanchanaburi 2007 campaign. The festivities go on throughout the year with special activities occurring from February to December throughout the province.
Kanchanaburi is only 128 kilometers from Bangkok and is home to immense natural beauty. The oldest limestone mountain range in Southeast Asia, the Tanaosi Mountains, provide a stunning backdrop to many of the province’s outdoor wonders. The hills near the mountains are full of waterfalls and streams, hiking trails and picnic spots. So close to Bangkok, it is the perfect weekend getaway.

Thailand’s Western Travel Mart 2006 will be held in Muang County, Sai Yok County, and Sangkhla Buri County throughout the month of July.
On the 27th of October, there will be a Boat Race Festival on the river bank in front of Wat Ban Tham, in Tha Muang County. The Bo Phloi County Administration Office is hosting a Mushroom and Jewellery Fair in early November.
Between 25 November and 5 December, the River Khwae will be the site of many celebrations and activities and the Visit Kanchanaburi 2007 year will end with a final Trade Fair at the Kanchanaburi Chamber of Commerce at the end of the month.
