A 57-year-old Austrian man drowned while swimming at Bangphra beach in Sriracha. His Laotian girlfriend told police they were drinking and eating on the beach for the New Year festival.

The Austrian then went for a swim, but quietly drowned with no one noticing, until it was too late.
