BANGKOK, 29 November 2010 (NNT) – The Democrat has been sparred by the Constitution Court who dropped the charge against the Party on grounds that the plaintiff did not follow correct legal procedure.
With the votes of 4:2, the judges dropped the charge against the party,ruling that the Election Commission (EC),the plaintiff, had failed to file the dissolution charge in 15 days as prescribed by the law; therefore, there was no issue for the Court to decide.
The ruling party has denied all along the allegation that it misused a 29-million-baht grant from the Election Commission during its campaigning leading up to the April 2, 2005 general election.
